|
Ice-Out News Saturday, April 17, 2004 70-degree Saturday concludes the 2004 Ice-Out Contest Congratulations to Kris Parece for correctly Guessing both the Ice-Out date AND the week which the temp first hit 70 degrees. Kris wins a $35 gift certificate at Mountain Road Trading Post, a framed certificate, and bragging rights for being the 2004 winner. Also winning consolation prizes are Jim Kelly, Jim Blouin, and Steve Kimball who "just missed" in the two categories. They each win a $10 Hannaford's gift certificate good for ice-cubes and frozen foods. Thank you to everyone who partipated in this year's Ice-Out. We had more participants this year than last, and we think that's great. A big thanks to our Ice-Out Jury, Tom Duffy, Randy Hale, and George Voltz. And a special thanks to the official amateur meteorologist of the contest, Jay Carter. The response to the Ice-Out contest was so positive that we're considering adding a similar competition for the Pawtuckaway Fall Season, so stay tuned for news of this later in the summer. So that's it for now, see you next year. Ice-Out 2005 will begin on Ground Hog Day 2005. Now, let's go swimming! ... Previous Ice-Out News Items... |
